About
Built by a GP, for anyone who has to consult under exam conditions
Mock Clinic started with a simple problem: the only way to get better at consultations is to do lots of them, and it's hard to find enough people to practise with.
Where it started
We first built AI consultation practice for GP trainees sitting the MRCGP Simulated Consultation Assessment. That became SCA Prep: voice-based AI patients, a real exam clock and marking against the three SCA domains.
What helps most isn't another book of cases. It's running a full consultation out loud, whenever you have time, and finding out straight away where the marks went.
Why Mock Clinic
Every consultation exam has the same core: listen, pick up cues, reason safely, explain clearly and agree a plan with the patient. The exams differ in timing, format and marking. Mock Clinic takes the engine behind SCA Prep and sets it up for each exam's own stations, timing and marking domains.
What we believe
- Practice should be out loud. Reading a model answer isn't the same as saying it to a worried patient with the clock running.
- Feedback should explain itself. A score without a reason doesn't help you improve.
- Cases should be clinically sound. Every case is written for the exam it's for and reviewed by a clinician before it goes live.
- It's a practice tool. It adds to practising with colleagues and tutors rather than replacing them, and it never gives medical advice.
